Good ol' cars and trucks - Mercury
As we drive around the state, we spot some great reminders of the past, classic cars and trucks made out of "Detroit iron." We skid to a stop, and click ‘em. We’ll set this up by make, and each section will be chronological, oldest to newest, but always classics only.
Mercury Comet four-door sedan, 1962. Mike Janssen owns this Comet, and owns Janssen Heating & Cooling, and RVs at 2902 East Main Street in Merrill, Lincoln County. He had recently redone the interior fabric and was proud of his 170 special engine.
Mercury Park Lane Brougham 1968: This blacktop model was used in the Hawaii Five-O TV series of the day, making it arguably the most photographed Mercury in history.
She had a 123-inch wheelbase and you could get a 428 horse V-8. It was seen as a "Man's Car" with the '67 edition. I found her in Wausau, Marathon County.
